Stay on the easy slopes until you are ready. If you are not ready the more difficult runs will not be more fun.
If you find yourself lying in the middle of a run you have two options. You can either move quickly to the side or be pummeled by someone.
If you feel that you are ready for jumps and rails, but are new to them I would recommend wearing a helmet. Many jumps are made of ice and most rails are made of metal. Both materials are much harder than snow.
Keep your gloves on at all times. When you take your hand out and they get cold it is very difficult to get them warm again.
If you plan on being at the resort for a while pack a lunch because the food there is very expensive.
