[continue from front page] Rikki LeBaron and Liz Mitchell (1956-2002) started Antique Row Café in 1998 in the Old Sellwood Square @ SE 13th & Umatilla. Liz's background with food and Rikki's background in the restaurant business proved to be a solid start for this tucked away cafe. The menu has changed slightly with new tastes but the core of it is the same items that have become addictions to some people. Among the favorite food items are the famous Curry Chicken Salad-made with dried cranberries and almonds and shredded chicken breast and a touch of curry. The café is most popular for its grilled sandwiches on Foccacia bread. There is the New Orleans Honey Bourbon Chicken Sandwich, or the Southwestern Chicken Sandwich with chipolte mayo and fire roasted green chilies. Another must try item is our Lemon Angel Pie (the original recipes dates back decades, but we brought it back as a regular item and people come from all over Portland and surrounding areas for it). It melts in your mouth! The café uses only the best ingredients and strives to make your experience there a welcoming one." |
